What do we teach?
Budo Taijutsu serves as the overarching term for a group of nine traditional Japanese schools of Jujutsu, each distinguished by its unique characteristics and techniques.
These nine schools trace their origins back to Japan's historical warrior classes. At Conquest, we draw upon these principles and adapt them to contemporary scenarios, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness in modern contexts.
How will I train?
Classes consist of a diverse range of students, from beginners to black belts.
The environment fosters learning opportunities for everyone, regardless of rank.
- Every student contributes valuable insights to training, regardless of experience level.
- Instruction follows the Japanese tradition of 'Ishi Shoden,' focusing on person-to-person or one-to-one transmission of knowledge.
- The class content is comprehensive, covering both armed and unarmed techniques.
- Unarmed techniques include:
- Striking
- Punching
- Kicking
- Joint locking and manipulation
- Throwing techniques
- Weaponry training includes:
- Katana (Japanese sword)
- Rokushaku-bo (6ft staff)
- Hanbo (3ft staff)

Join the Journey: Conquest Martial Arts Class
At Conquest Martial Arts, we offer a transformative experience where martial arts becomes a way of life. Our 1.5 classes include:
1. Warm-Up: Energizing mobility exercises to prepare your body and mind.
2.Ukemi: Learn safe rolling and falling techniques for confidence in your practice.
3. Kihon: Master fundamental techniques like punches, kicks, and throws, essential for all levels.
4. Themed Lesson: Each class features a unique theme, adding depth and variety to your training.
No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to learn.
Students from Bird College, Rose Bruford, and The University of Greenwich receive a 10% discount.

What ages do you teach?
We teach ages:
5 to 6yrs at 9.00 to 09.45 Sunday
6 to 7 yrs at 9.45 to 10.30 Sunday
8 to 14yrs at 10.30 to 11.30 Sunday
5 to 6yrs at 18:00 Wednesday
8 to 14yrs 19:00 to 20:00 Wednesday
14 to adult 20:00 to 21:00 Wednesday
8 to 13yrs 09:30 to 10:30 Saturday
Our main adult class trains on Sunday mornings.
Classes are currently held at Holy Trinity Lamorbey Church of England Primary School, 16 Burnt Oak Ln, Sidcup, DA15 9DB between 11.30 and 13.00
Our Wednesday Childrens classes and adult class is held at:
Orchard Primary School , Oxford Road, Sidcup
between 18:00.00 to 21.00
Once Weekly - £40.00 per month
Twice Weekly - £68.00 per month
Annual insurance £15
Tameishigri Insurance £10.00 per year
What are the nine schools

Togakure-ryū (戸隠流) - This school focuses on espionage and stealth techniques, originally developed in the late 12th century.

Gyokko-ryū (玉虎流) - Specializing in kosshijutsu, which targets muscle tissue and uses precise strikes to weak points.

Kuki Shinden-ryū (九鬼神伝流) - This school teaches traditional battlefield combat with an emphasis on weapons and tactics used by samurai warriors.

Koto-ryū (虎倒流) - Focused on koppōjutsu, which includes bone breaking and leverage against joints.

Shinden Fudo-ryū (神伝不動流) - Teaches both jūtaijutsu (grappling) and dakentaijutsu (striking techniques), emphasizing natural movements and survival techniques.

Takagi Yoshin-ryū (高木揚心流) - A jūtaijutsu school known for its throwing techniques and specialization in controlling an opponent while in seated or indoor situations.

Gikan-ryū (義鑑流) - Focuses on truth, loyalty, and justice; known for its striking and weapon techniques.
