Children's Jujutsu and Martial arts classes
At our martial arts club, safety is a top priority, and we structure our children's classes with age-specific groups in mind. Here's an overview of our children's classes:
1. Mini Ninjas Class (Ages 4-6): This class is tailored to develop essential skills in balance, coordination, movements, and fundamental Jujutsu techniques. It provides a great foundation for our youngest students.
2. Yamabushi Class (Ages 6-8): Building upon the skills acquired in the Mini Ninjas class, the Yamabushi class introduces more advanced techniques and fosters increased levels of fitness and concentration.
3. Shinobi Class (Ages 8-14): The Shinobi class is where students embark on their journey toward achieving the Junior Black Belt. It builds upon the foundation of knowledge and skills they have acquired. This class instills the values of perseverance, mental toughness, and resilience.
Our dedicated instructors meet the following criteria:
- They are DBS checked for your child's safety.
- They are fully insured.
- They have a wealth of experience in teaching children.
- They are professionally trained martial arts teachers, ensuring your child receives expert guidance and instruction.
Senior Budo Taijutsu
Our adult classes are characterized by a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. You don't need to be exceptionally fit to start your training journey with us, as we gradually build fitness levels throughout your martial arts experience.
The roots of our martial art span hundreds of years, connecting to the ancient warriors of Japan. We impart a diverse range of techniques to our students, covering joint locks, grappling, throws, and self-defense techniques for real-world street-style situations.
In addition to these skills, our students become proficient in various traditional weapons, including different types of swords and staff. We also facilitate opportunities for our students to train with leading instructors in the UK and worldwide, broadening their martial arts knowledge and expertise.
While we encourage our students to explore and experience training and culture in Japan, such travel is not a requirement for advancement in our martial arts program.
Ryoi Shinto ryu Jujutsu
and Tameshgiri
Jujutsu classes from ages 14yr to adult . Professional instruction in the heart of Sidcup.
Ryōi Shintō-ryū Jūjutsu, a formidable and influential martial art style during the Edo period (1603–1868), traced its origins to the skilled martial artist Fukuno Shichirouemon Masakatsu (福野七郎右衛門正勝), born around 1585 in Settsu, Naniwa (modern-day Osaka, Japan).
Fukuno earned acclaim for his exceptional martial abilities and notably trained in the Yagyū Shinkage-ryū Heihō (兵法 - war method, strategy) under the tutelage of Yagyū Sekishūsai Taira-no-Munetoshi (柳生石舟斎平宗厳).
In addition to being a master of Sumo (相撲), Fukuno was recognized as a Tatsujin (達人 – master expert) of the Yagyū Shinkage-ryū. During the years 1626–1627, he expanded his martial knowledge by studying Torite no jutsu (捕手の術 – hand taking) and Kenpō (拳法 – fist striking method) from the Chinese monk Chin Genpin (陳元贇) of the Southern Shaolin Monastery, also known as 'Nan-Shaolin' (南少林).
