Meet Your Instructors
David - Director Of Training
David has been involved in sports and fitness since childhood. He started with Bexley Swimming club where he developed a love in particular for the land training aspect. He was introduced to Olympic lifting at age 10 by his father who was a PT in the military. From that moment on he was hooked on weight training and has continued ever since. At university, he competed in powerlifting. He is also a member of The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity.
Martial arts - at the age of 13 he started training in martial arts and holds various Dan grades across several disciplines. Currently, he holds a 7th degree black belt in a style of Japanese jujutsu and teaches two classes a week.
Health and fitness - David is a qualified personal trainer and has experience training a wide range of clients all with different needs and abilities. Whatever your starting point or aims, he looks forward to meeting you. He is available to run classes and private sessions.
Damon McPherson - Assistant Instructor
Damon (2nd Dan) started his training back in the 80s learning full contact Karate but decided to put his efforts into learning Budo Tai Jutsu. He started this chapter of life under Dai Shihan Peter King, the head instructor in the UK. He helps in the teaching of classes. He has trained with leading Japanese teachers including Hatsumi Sensei.
Cat McPherson - Safe Guarding Officer
Cat is very approachable and always has time to talk to parents or students. She is your first point of contact if you have any concerns in the club. Cat also helps out with our exciting children’s classes.
Jenna Carter - Kids Class Assistant Instructor
Jenna helps out in kids classes every Sunday. She is very approachable and the kids love her calm and patient manner. She trains regularly on a Sunday in the adult class.
